Electroformed Jewelry
Electroformed jewelry is made with low voltage DC electricity with controlled current.
It is essentially electroplating, but thicker, and the choice of where it grows controlled.
It only grows on conductive surfaces.
Over a few weeks, the metal on the piece 'grows' to more than just a mere thin plating.
It starts to get texture and three dimensionality as initial defects are magnified with more and more growth.
It wants to grow more on the side facing the opposite terminal.
Some pieces are then electroplated with fine silver.
